Overview
The micromobility sharing service in Putrajaya also provides public bicycle facilities to support green mobility and a healthy lifestyle among visitors.
A total of 40 bicycles are available at Putrajaya Wetland Park and 80 bicycles at Putrajaya Botanical Garden for public use.
PSCB Blueprint Alignment
This initiative aligns with Smart Application 1.6: Low Emissions Transportation in the Putrajaya Smart City Blueprint (PSCB), specifically the Bike Sharing facilities and Services initiative.
Objective: Reduce carbon emissions and air pollution through the use of efficient modes of public transportation.
Desire Outcome:
- The shared micro-mobility initiative was introduced to enhance sustainable urban mobility within Putrajaya by providing an environmentally friendly, efficient, and accessible mode of last-mile transportation.
- Reduce dependency on private motor vehicles, encourage low-carbon mobility practices, and support the development of a smart and green city ecosystem.
Implementation Approach:
- Phase 1: 90 e-scooters deployed across 6 designated locations along the Putrajaya lakeside area.
- Phase 2: Addition of 30 e-scooter units and expansion to 3 new locations within park areas.
