The strategic collaboration between Perbadanan Putrajaya and Telekom Malaysia Global represents a significant advancement in next-generation urban wireless infrastructure. Evolving from the Smart C-RAN model (2017) to a fully optimized, award-winning Distributed RAN (D-RAN) architecture (2023), this deployment successfully pushed Putrajaya’s 5G population coverage beyond 97%. Through the structured use of multi-tenant infrastructure sharing and custom, city-themed camouflaged smart poles, the initiative achieved the highest median mobile download speeds in Malaysia while rigorously preserving the city’s signature aesthetic and environmental harmony.
