The FAIR IoT Network (LoRaWAN) is the low-power, wide-area networking backbone that brings ubiquitous connectivity to Putrajaya’s urban sensor grid. Designed specifically for massive, energy-efficient IoT deployments, this infrastructure penetrates deep into urban canyons and underground facilities where standard cellular signals falter. It serves as the foundational communication layer for diverse applications, from smart parking sensors to environmental telemetry, significantly lowering the barrier to entry for smart city innovation.

First municipal-owned and operated LoRaWAN IoT network in Malaysia, eliminating proprietary infrastructure barriers
Pilot Project (Precinct 15): Smart Street Lighting system managing LED and HPS luminaires with automated fault alerts
Parking Guidance System (PGS) expansion: Deployed ingress/egress sensors in PPj Closed Parking lots for real-time occupancy tracking
Smart Tree Inventory expansion: Tilt sensors deployed on high-risk trees to proactively monitor tree movement and safety
Funded under the NTIS Sandbox and integrated with the ChirpStack LoRaWAN Network Server
LoRaWAN infrastructure (Vectolabs & WiPNET) ChirpStack Network Server
