Safeguarding Putrajaya's 38% green coverage through real-time environmental telemetry and smart ecological stewardship.
Smart Home & Environment in Putrajaya
Smart Home & Environment is Putrajaya's commitment to preserving and enhancing the natural environment that defines its character as a Garden City and Federal Capital. Covering 4,581 hectares of built and natural landscapes, this domain deploys advanced IoT-driven monitoring networks across Putrajaya's iconic lake system, 38 per cent green coverage, urban forests, and residential precincts.
Perbadanan Putrajaya manages an integrated network of weather stations, air quality monitoring nodes, water quality IoT sensors (SKPPAS), SCADA-driven stormwater and lake management systems, and urban heat island mitigation programmes. Real-time environmental data feeds directly into the Integrated Environment Monitoring System (IEMS) and the Putrajaya Command Centre (PCC), enabling predictive ecological management and early flood warning capabilities.
This domain supports Putrajaya's dual mandate as both a high-quality residential environment and a model sustainable city, directly operationalising the MSCF Smart Environment domain while contributing to Malaysia's climate commitments under the Paris Agreement and the National Physical Plan.
