Overview
The Putrajaya Urban Observatory (PUO) was officially launched on December 4, 2024, by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof. The big data platform was unveiled at the Perbadanan Putrajaya Complex during the Digital Putrajaya Exhibition and Conference (DIPEC 2024).
The Putrajaya Urban Observatory (PUO) is Putrajaya’s authoritative open urban data platform and analytics hub. It aggregates, harmonises, and visualises multi-source data streams — including IoT sensor networks, demographic datasets, mobility patterns, environmental metrics, and economic indicators — into a unified geospatial intelligence layer. The PUO enables evidence-based policymaking, PLANMalaysia indicator reporting, and public data transparency in alignment with the National Open Data Policy.
