SMART STREET LIGHTHING

The smart street lighting system developed by Vectolabs for Presint 15 will be the first of its kind in Putrajaya. The system is designed to manage all types of street lighting assets, which includes feeder pillars and all types of street lighting, from the smart-ready LEDs to the conventional High-Pressure Sodium (HPS) luminaires. The system helps PPj to resolve faulty street lighting proactively with the automated notification system, and quickly using the information provided, such as possible faulty components, the exact location of the luminaire, and the feeder pillar, circuit, and phase the luminaire is connected to. PPj will also be able to track work orders for faulty street lighting to ensure high quality of service to its community…

Blueprint

The objective of the Putrajaya Smart City Blueprint is to guide and provide recommendations to the Putrajaya Corporation and all related departments/agencies in Putrajaya for formulating policies, strategies, and action plans in the implementation of Putrajaya Smart City.

Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN)

LoRa is a Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) technology that uses a wireless modulation method to create long-range communication links with low power consumption, which makes it ideal for transmitting sensor data from IoT devices. A single gateway is able to cover a 2-5km radius in urban settings. LoRa infrastructure will be built in Presint 15 Putrajaya, a commercial hub, with smart street lighting as the first application.

CENTRALIZED ELECTRONIC BULLETIN BOARD (CEBB)

 Smart City Initiative in Malaysia

Smart Cities are all cities that use ICT and technological advances to address urban issues including improving quality of life, promoting economic growth, developing a sustainable and safe environment, and also encouraging efficient urban management practice. Smart City models have different purposes and areas by region, and it is important for Putrajaya to identify its city’s goal and objectives in defining the Putrajaya Smart City. The vision for Putrajaya is to transform itself from a Garden City into a Green City by the year 2025. In doing this, it has identified 4 Big Moves and 8 Policies in its gazette Structure plan. These 2025 long-term plans are key fundamental attributes of a smart city and hence the current planning and development of Putrajaya set the pathway towards such transformation.

Smart partners

Some of these partners are convinced that the necessary changes for the city and region to move forward, can only be achieved through collaboration.
